Commitments

From craftsmanship to innovation,
it's just a feather away

For ten years, Maison Vermeulen has been perpetuating the ancient and precious craft of featherwork. Combining tradition and innovation, we use an almost scientific approach to explore new processes – embroidery, knitting, dyeing – to work the feather material, with our imagination as the only frontier.

SURPRISE Julien Vermeulen captivates with his artistic vision, taking featherwork where it is least expected. A visual artist and skilled craftsman, he explores the phenomena and possibilities of light on the unique material of feathers. The works and projects that emerge from his research make the material vibrate, playing with the obvious. The result, with every glance, is a new encounter with light, a new radiance.
MASTER Our studio draws its strength from challenge, experimentation and innovation. Working with you, we accompany each creative step, exploring our 200 exclusive archives and R&D to design unique, made-to-measure feathers. These encounters with our craft give rise to exceptional projects.
HYBRIDER Driven by an insatiable curiosity, Julien Vermeulen initiates a dialogue between the arts of weaving, featherwork and knitting to create unprecedented textures. The interplay of 6 hands, an unexpected blends of materials and an expanded palette of tools give life to surprising textures of softness, solidity and volume. Thanks to a digital loom and expert craftsmen, Maison Vermeulen brings your boldest ideas to life.
DELIVER Thanks to a network of multidisciplinary talents, a dynamic team and the ongoing development of new techniques, our workshop is able to meet the most demanding requests. With finesse and responsiveness, we create all types of projects for Haute-Couture, High End Watchmaking, Interior Decoration and Art Installations,, putting our expertise at the service of the most beautiful ideas.
RESPECT The company recently relocated to Anjou to accelerate its growth and build Hygéa1005, the first 100% French supply chain for feathers. This relocation is an opportunity to put into practice one of the workshop’s founding principles: respect for animal welfare and traceability.

Hygea

The creation of our HYGEA 1005 laboratory in 2023 has enabled us to offer a catalog of feathers from French breeders, selected for their commitment to animal welfare.

Thanks to the support of the Bettencourt Foundation and the Ernst & Young Foundation, we were able to build from scratch the first legally approved feather processing unit in France, guaranteeing total traceability of our production.
